About Me

I am but a doctoral student and lover of fun.

Doctoral Student

I’m originally from Michigan’s east coast where I grew up and attended school through community college. At that time I transferred to Saginaw Valley University where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and later my Master of Arts in Teaching Reading degree. I went on to Wayne State University for my MLIS degree and am now a librarian in-state working on my doctoral degree through Central Michigan University. Read all about it here on my blog!

I’ve worked all over Michigan through the years including stops in Lexington, Marysville, Saginaw, Flint, Ann Arbor, Whitmore Lake, Melvindale, Wixom, Waterford, and Pontiac. Throughout my (many) college years, I was always either a nanny/tutor or lifeguard/swim instructor, or both. I’m not afraid of hard work. I’ve always held a full-time job while being in college. I again look forward to the challenge at CMU Online. Thanks for reading =]

For Fun…

I like to spend time with family, read fiction, write stories, research my ancestry, hike, swim, kayak, watch Detroit Tigers baseball, go to UofM football games, and be an auntie.

Some of my new favorite fiction authors are Ali Hazelwood, Emily Henry, Abby Jimenez, and Helen Hoang. While they all write romance that’s not all I read! Usually I’m deep into educational technology texts for class.

Someday I’d love to learn rock-climbing, hike the Smoky Mountains, and to visit Australia.
